Round 13

It was great day pitch side for our juniors on Saturday. There was a gentle breeze and the sun was shining.  The pitches however were on fire!

U7 Shadows

The Shadows had a fun and energetic game against our friends from Margaret River Lightening. The Shadows displayed really strong team work, maintaining their positions on the field and passing amongst each other to land some spectacular goals. Ted earned player of the match for his unrivalled dribbling, accurate kicking and positive attitude throughout the whole game. Special mention to Kai who also showed outstanding speed and scored some amazing goals. Great team effort Shadows!

U9 Raptors

The River Raptors put in a determined and exciting performance, showing great teamwork, strong defence and plenty of attacking opportunities throughout the match.

The game started with the Raptors applying pressure early. Great passing between the players, including some excellent combinations involving Ollie, Isaac and Ezra, helped the team move the ball around confidently. There were also some strong attacking moments, with close attempts on goal from Bo and Isaac.

Defensively, the Raptors worked incredibly hard. Will made some important saves, while Ollie, Ezra, Caolán, Lochie and Aston all produced excellent clearances to keep the opposition under pressure.

The breakthrough came when Leo scored a fantastic goal, sending the Raptors into a 1–0 lead and sparking a celebration dance from the team! The Raptors continued to work hard, keeping close to their opponents, blocking, tackling and attacking as a team.

The opposition fought back and managed to take the lead, making it 3–1 going into half time. However, the Raptors never gave up. Eddie showed great determination, continuing to battle for the ball even when surrounded by three opposition players. Will showed his energy in the attack and had great passes to his team mates. Caolán put in a strong defensive performance, while Lochie worked tirelessly, chasing down the ball and making important tackles and clearances.

In the second half, the Raptors came out with renewed energy. The defence stayed strong, with more excellent clearances from Ezra, Caolán , Aston and Lochie. Ollie also showed great composure, taking his time with his kick-outs and looking carefully for the best pass.

The Raptors' hard work paid off when Ezra scored to make it 3–2. The momentum continued to swing in the Raptors' favour, with several players creating close chances on goal.

Then came another big moment as Lochie scored an amazing goal to level the game at 3–3! The team had fought back brilliantly after being two goals behind, showing fantastic determination and team spirit.

There were further close attempts from Ezra, Eddie, Ollie and Aston, with the Raptors continuing to push forward until the final whistle.

Overall, it was a fantastic team performance yet again from the River Raptors. Despite falling behind, the players showed great resilience to fight their way back into the match. With excellent passing, determined defending, strong tackling and some brilliant goals, the Raptors should be proud of their effort in an exciting 3–3 draw.

Lochie was the well deserved player of the match! All the hard work from these boys is shining through in every match they play and they couldn’t do any of it without the great guidance and support from their coach Dan.

U10 Legends 11

From the opening whistle the side showed real intent, with early attempts at goal setting the pace.

The back line put in big efforts throughout, clearing the ball with purpose and preventing any sustained pressure.

Strong and clever footwork was a highlight of the performance and proved exciting to watch, helping the team progress the ball effectively.

The forward line looked sharp and in sync, opening up space and creating opportunities. Multiple strikes followed as the attack clicked into gear.

Good positioning across the pitch allowed the players to keep the ball moving fluidly and maintain control of the game.

U11 Dragons

The Dragons travelled to Churchill Park this weekend to take on the GMAS Braves in what was a strong and physical contest.

The Dragons played exceptionally well, showing great determination and composure despite plenty of pressure from the Braves. There were some fantastic passages of football, with the team moving the ball well, working hard for one another and creating opportunities through some confident attacking play. Defensively, the Dragons were equally impressive, staying strong in challenges and continuing to compete for every ball.

Our player of the day today was Jonah, who showed great perseverance and endurance on the pitch. Thanks to the FMR canteen for the voucher!

U11 Serpents

The Serpents hosted the Cornerstone Grasshoppers today and put in a strong shift from start to finish, keeping their energy up for the full game.

Player of the Day honours went to Liam, who delivered a standout two-way performance — holding down the goal with confidence in the first half, then moving up to striker in the second and using his blazing speed to cause problems all over the pitch.

U12 Storm

Storm rolled up for another tough match this week against DTFC Wanderers and they gave it absolutely everything from start to finish. It was one of those games where the final score didn't tell the full story. A fantastic effort was given by our kids and every single one of them should be proud of the way they dug in.

Right across the park the Storm kept working for each other, chasing down every ball, backing up their teammates and never once dropping their heads. There was some lovely passing on show and plenty of brave play, and while the goals didn't quite fall our way this time, the heart and teamwork more than made up for it. 

POD, sponsored by The PieHouse, went to Daisy for some huge runs on the pitch and Kynan for solid work in defence. 

U13 All Stars

Players of the Day were Flo Burton and Isaac Mann.  Well done!

U13 Breakers

The Breakers put a ball in the back of the net early in the game. The Roar returned fire and scored a goal. The Breakers played a hard and fast game but the Roar used their subs to their advantage to take the upper hand. Kai played a consistently purposeful game in defence along with Drayke in goals to take home POD. Thanks to Golf Gardens for prizes.

U15 Rockets

Players of the Day in the hotly contested FMR Derby with Rockets v Warriors were Charlie, Dom and Banjo.

U17 Mustangs

On a mild winter’s evening last Wednesday, FMR played against Geographe Bay under light in Busselton. Within 15 minutes FMR scored their first goal and Geo responded with a goal. FMR then stepped up the pace and with even distribution of the ball between them, they continued to score 5 more goals.

Sid ended up with a hat trick, Kai scored 2 and Reef’s goal was a fantastic header off a corner kick. Their teamwork reflected in their goal scoring as well as shutting down the opposition’s attempts to hit the back of the net.
