Round 15

What a weekend!  FMR Hosted the final Jillaroos Round on Friday night, we had Round 15 of our Junior League, which is the second last Round of the League Season, and the Men’s Prems took out the clash of 1 v 2 on the Ladder to take the League!  BIG weekend of Football for FMR.

Next week will be massive too.  We have 19 home games between Rapids and Gloucester Park.  It will be a sea of yellow out there on Saturday, so come down and watch some of the action!

U8 Falcons

The Falcons were without subs but the 7 players on the pitch brought their A-game today. In a thrilling challenge against Busselton Panthers, the Falcons had great team work in defence and attack. Player of the day was Marshall and Finn. Great game Falcons!

U10 Mavericks

It was a great game on Saturday between the FMR Mavericks and the DTFC Dragons. Players of the day for Mavs were awarded to the very deserving Angus Collins with some fancy footwork and Louie Bruggler who didn't stop running all day and was impressive in attack and defence.

U11 Serpents

The Serpents faced off against the MacKillop Thunder on their home turf in Busselton under rainy skies this week—but the team rose to the challenge, delivering a standout performance as a cohesive unit. By the time the final whistle blew, the clouds had parted, leaving them basking in sunshine.

Player of the Day went to Zephyr, whose relentless energy and tenacity shone both in defense and up front. A special nod also to Finn for his skill and contributions throughout the match.

Thanks to Coach Sian for her leadership, and a big shout-out to Candy Cow for sponsoring the Player of the Day voucher!

U13 All Stars

The Allstar made the long trip to Capel this week and put up a brave battle against a very good side. Despite a wonderful solo run and goal from Hugo, Capel had too much quality and ran out deserved winners. Credit to players of the day, Chloe and Olive, who showed a lot of quality on the ball and never gave up.

U17 Mustangs

A return to the winter weather today as the cold, wind and rain welcomed us to Dardanup.  Not ideal when KO was delayed 30 mins as the nets weren’t set up!

Didn’t seem to affect the boys in the pitch as not long after the whistle finally blew, Sid opened the scoring with a great strike.  Jarrah playing out of goals for the first time this year got our second.  An own goal gave us a third.

The passing of the ball was exceptional with everyone getting a lot of touches and making some great passing shots.  Alex scored our 4th with a play from the back from Reef to Sid to Alex.

A free kick gave Eaton-Dardanup a chance with a long bomb that was then knocked into goals.

Second half and the ball was mostly in our forward half again. Alex was running down the ball again and again but it was a Sid - who ran through their defense - Bobbie combo that gave us our 5th.  Bobbie then got another to take us to 1-6.  The opposition wasn’t having much luck with another own goal taking it to 1-7 to us.  Sid closed out the game to take it to 1-8.

With just one sub, it was a real team effort with the boys moving the ball around the pitch well, lots of calling to each other and kept the pressure on Eaton-Dardanup the whole game. Well done boys!
